Frozen at the Benedum

On Thursday October 6th, a small group of the 8th grade Chorus students went on a field trip to the "Benedum Center for the Performing Arts" to see a "cool" new rendition of their favorite childhood movie "Frozen"! This Broadway production featured a professional cast, glamorous costumes, and amazing special sets and special effects. Imagine traveling all over the country and getting to perform everyday, and that's not just a hobby, it would be your job! Afterwards they gathered for Olafly dinner at "Buca di Beppo". We all had a great time, and we hope that another amazing Broadway show will come next year so we can experience this wonderful adventure again.

The souvenir stand was full of one of a kind items for anyone who wanted one.

The Benedum, built in 1928, is an elite venue. The design of the building itself is a work of art, and just look at how many chandeliers they have!

The side streets were filled with trailers used to transport the stunning set pieces from Broadway to Pittsburgh.

The animated backdrop was framed by an intricately made set piece. Spectators got to enjoy the northern lights in motion as if they were really in the frozen north.

The festivities were then moved to Station Square, the location of "Buca di Beppo," where the students were served a family-style Italian feast of different pastas, Chicken Parmesan, and chocolate chip cookies.
