Immunizations
The state of California requires all students to show proof of the TDAP immunization before entering the 7th grade for the year 2024-2025. Failure to do so will mean your student will not be allowed to attend the 2024- 2025 school year until proof of immunization is submitted.
You may submit a copy of your child’s immunization record to the school office in the following ways:
Take a photo of the record and email it to navazquez@kippsocal.org or text it to (323) 371-0575
Fax the record to (323) 800-5221

Please note that KIPP SoCal will continue to monitor isolation timelines for students who test positive and will continue to send notifications to students who have been exposed to COVID-19 on the school campus. Masks and at-home rapid antigen tests will continue to be available at school to students. If you would like an additional test kit, please stop by the office.
School Nutrition Program
School Meals
Students participating in the school meal program are offered all of the components of a healthy and filling meal. To decrease waste and increase student choice, students are not required to take every item offered, however, they must take at least three items, one of which must be a fruit and/or a vegetable. The monthly menu for breakfast and lunch will be shared with families before the start of each month via parentsquare
Meal Accommodations
KIPP SoCal Public Schools is committed to providing healthy and nutritious meals to all students. This includes providing meal accommodations to students due to disability/medical need/impairment. Dietary needs due to lifestyle and religious reasons are important to KIPP SoCal Public Schools but are not required by the USDA to make accommodations. Requests for accommodations due to lifestyle and/or religious reasons will be considered and accommodated to the extent possible.
If you need to request accommodations, please visit our office, and we can provide you with the proper documentation to best support your child’s meal needs on campus.
Student Snacks From Home
To promote a healthy learning environment, if you choose to send a snack with your child in addition to the food served at the school, we encourage the consumption of healthy snacks on campus. Students may bring fruit, vegetables, or single servings of crackers. Students are not allowed to bring soda, gum, chips, or any type of candy unless directed by his or her teacher. If a student brings any of these items, they will be confiscated and can get picked up at the end of the day.
Food Allergy Sensitive School
Due to the potentially life-threatening nature of food allergies, schools may implement strict rules regarding foods and beverages not allowed on campus. All KIPP schools are PEANUT-SENSITIVE, so peanuts or peanut products are NOT allowed on campus.

Vacunas
El estado de California requiere que todos los estudiantes muestren prueba de la vacuna TDAP antes de ingresar al séptimo grado para el año 2024-2025. De no hacerlo, su estudiante no podrá asistir al año escolar 2024-2025 hasta que presente el comprobante de vacunación.

Comidas Escolares
Los estudiantes que participan en el programa de comidas escolares se les ofrecen todos los componentes de una comida saludable y abundante. Para reducir el desperdicio y aumentar la elección del estudiante, no se requiere que los estudiantes tomen todos los elementos ofrecidos; sin embargo, deben tomar al menos tres elementos, siendo uno de ellos una fruta y/o una verdura. El menú mensual para el desayuno y el almuerzo se compartirá con las familias antes del inicio de cada mes.
Los estudiantes están descartando comidas, incluyendo frutas, y luego buscan bocadillos debido al hambre.
Adaptaciones en las Comidas
KIPP SoCal Public Schools se compromete a proporcionar comidas saludables y nutritivas a todos los estudiantes. Esto incluye brindar adaptaciones en las comidas a estudiantes debido a discapacidad/necesidad médica/impedimento. Las necesidades dietéticas debido a razones de estilo de vida y religiosas son importantes para KIPP SoCal Public Schools, pero no son requeridas por el USDA para hacer adaptaciones. Las solicitudes de adaptaciones debido a razones de estilo de vida y/o religiosas se considerarán y se atenderán en la medida de lo posible.

Bocadillos de Casa para Estudiantes
Para fomentar un entorno de aprendizaje saludable, si elige enviar un refrigerio con su hijo/a además de la comida servida en la escuela, alentamos el consumo de refrigerios saludables en el campus. Los estudiantes pueden traer frutas, verduras o porciones individuales de galletas. No se permite a los estudiantes traer refrescos, chicle, papas fritas o cualquier tipo de dulce a menos que lo indique su maestro/a. Si un estudiante trae alguno de estos artículos, se le pedirá que los guarde y no se le permitirá consumirlos en el campus.
Escuela Sensible a Alergias Alimentarias
Debido a la naturaleza potencialmente mortal de las alergias alimentarias, las escuelas pueden implementar reglas estrictas con respecto a los alimentos y bebidas no permitidos en el campus. Todas las escuelas de KIPP son SENSIBLES A LOS CACAHUETES, por lo que no se permiten cacahuetes o productos de cacahuetes en el campus.
