St. Coleman’s church was built on land donated by Count De Basterot (see right) in 1819.
Dr. Archdeacon, the Catholic Bishop in Kinvara at the time.
Most of the stone came from the older church Mountcross.
The timber galleries along both sides of the chapel were removed in 1951.
The first mass of the day would start at 6 a.m.
Followed by confessions throughout the day.
And there would be Mass again in the evening
Nowadays the mass is celebrated here on Sunday mornings and for weddings and funerals.
