About The Course

During this course you will investigate the creative intentions of a range musical theatre shows, delve into the world of performing arts and learn how to devise meaningful performance pieces of your own.


Component 1 - Exploring the Performing Arts

Get a taste of what it's like to be a professional musical theatre performer.

  • What is the creative intention of this performance?

  • What influenced the practitioners?

  • What roles, skills and techniques were used to create this performance?

Component 2 - Developing Skills & Techniques in the Performing Arts

Develop skills and techniques in musical theatre.

  • Practical workshops and rehearsals.

  • Improving physical, interpretative, vocal and rehearsal skills.

  • Applying these skills in performance.

  • Reflecting on your progress, performance and how to improve.

Component 3 - Responding to a Brief

Adapt and utilise the skills and techniques you have learnt and developed to produce a performance piece based on a given brief.

  • Make your own creative decisions.

  • Create your own piece as a group.

  • Perform and evaluate it.
