CARTAGENA ESCUELA INDUSTRIALES UPCT F24/24+ HEAT - 30 DE NOVIEMBRE Y 1 DE DICIEMBRE 2019

This first race in the south east Iberia region took place at the Cartagena race circuit giving teams the opportunity to test their new cars and identify improvements for the 2020 Greenpower Iberia season.

As this was the first race for most teams, scrutineering was held until late the night before the race, giving teams to make technical changes, while other teams members were making their project management presentations.

Thanks again to the partners of this event for organising access to the circuit and technical material as well as volunteers for the administration, scrutineering and judging.

CARTAGENA F24/F24+ DRIVER TRAINING, VEHICLE SET UP AND SCRUTINEERING WORKSHOP - 8 DE OCTUBRE 2019

The day started with the presentation of the project objectives from the perspectives of Maria Isabel Fortea (Director General of Investigation and Innovation for the Region of Murcia), Luis Javier Lozano (Vice-Chancellor for the University Politecnica of Cartagena) and Patricio Franco (DIrector of the Industrial Engineering Faculty of the University Politecnica of Cartagena).

The university has seen the need to promote Greenpower in order to promote and develop motivation and competences in engineering, as well as the different professional abilities of the multi-disciplinary teams that participate in Greenpower.

In their first, year teams have been launched in:

  • IES Politecnico (Cartagena)

  • IES Mediterráneo (Cartagena)

  • IES Los Molinos (Cartagena)

  • IES Maria Cegarra Salcedo (La Unión)

  • Colegio Santa Maria de la Paz (Murcia)

  • Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Técnicos de la Región de Murcia (COITIRM)

  • Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros de la Region de Murcia (COIIRM)

  • Colegio Vistarreal (Molina de Segura)

  • IES Arzobispo Lozano (Jumilla)


This first workshop was organised to help prepare teams for the race at the Cartagena Circuit on the 30th of November, where the university Formula Student team will take the volunteer roles of Scrutineers as well as judges for the Project Management presentations, which teams give in English.

BERAKRUZ URBAN RACE - 15 DE JUNIO 2019

To motivate everyone as we come back to this new academic year, the last race before the summer break was the BeraKruz urban race, organised with the support of BeraKruz Ikastola, Markina-Xemein Udala and the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo.

We would also like to thank the individual volunteers for their help in organising this event. Special thanks should be given to the staff and families of BeraKruz and other participating teams, and Angel Luengos, who took the role of head judge for the project management presentations in English.
