Understanding Mental Health
An unproportional amount of anxiety and stress related to an upcoming event or event at hand, often can impair the individual from doing tasks, also known to take form in somatic (bodily functions related to the mind) issues.
Anxiety related to social events or interactions, a large amount of stress and worry are invoked and steps are taken to avoid the event in question.
Bipolar disorder is a type of mood disorder that causes extreme mood swings/highs and lows. There are other terms that fit under the umbrella term bipolar disorder, some of those being: Bipolar I disorder, Bipolar II disorder, Cyclothymic disorder, other disorders that could be induced by drugs, alcohol, or another medical condition.
A type of anxiety disorder that causes people to have thoughts, ideas and/or sensations that are recurring.
A behavioral disorder that reflects antisocial behavior. There are other disorders that also share the same symptoms, however conduct disorder is more of an overarching category.
Caused by a traumatic event experienced or witnessed, that can cause flashbacks, nightmares and anxiety.
Frequent and repeating anger, aruing, defiance and resentful emotions towards parents or any other caretaker/adult figure.
Frequent and recurring panic attacks. Panic attacks include; bursts of fear, discomfort, anxiety, worry that are amplified at a certain time and identified as a panic attack.
The umbrella term being “depression” the disorder is also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression.
There are three types of ADHD: Inattentive, hyperactive/impulsive, and a combination of both. Someone struggling with ADHD might struggle in school or with relationships.
