A business participant is any business or group who would like to host a collection box (privately or publicly) to collect in-kind school supply donations in. Your business participation would be collaborating with KIDS CARE and the Cobb County Police Department to collect NEW BACKPACKS, SCHOOL SUPPLIES & NONPERISHABLE SNACKS to donate to students in need in Cobb County, GA.
PRIVATE COLLECTION BOX: If you choose this option, we encourage you to collect supplies within your business from co-workers and/or patrons. Your business will be listed as a general supporter of "Backing the Need" but not listed as a public drop off location (unless you advise you would like to be anonymous).
PUBLIC COLLECTION BOX: KIDS CARE will list your business as a public drop off location on social media and our nonprofit's website & website extensions. Your business may also be listed on our promotional material as a public drop off location and supporter of "Backing the Need". Public Drop Boxes shall be in place June 19th - July 18/19th. We also encourage you to collect supplies within your business from co-workers and/or patrons if possible.
Private & public collection boxes will need to be brought to the Cobb Civic Center on July 19th from 9 am - 1 pm. If you cannot make this drop time we will arrange for an alternate drop off date/time at the Cobb Civic Center on July 19th (afternoon).
All businesses who participate are invited to provide us with promotional materials/coupons that we will hand out to the general public when someone drops off school donations at our final public drop off: July 19th 9 am - 2 pm at the Cobb Civic Center. It is best to get those to us before July 19th.

Business Participants would be asked to have a drop off box in place on or before June 19, 2025. We ask that the box is in place until July 18th/19th. Businesses are asked to bring all donations to the Cobb Civic Center on July 19, 2025 between 9 am - 1 pm. We will take a group photo with the donations that were collected at your business. These donations will then be added to our community collection which will be given to students in need in Cobb County. (See recipients page).

Donations will be split up & given to local Cobb County nonprofits. The local nonprofits already work closely with families & children in need and have many times already vetted those seeking help. This ensures that the donations are indeed getting to students in need. We will be delivering to the following Cobb County Nonprofits for the upcoming 2025/2026 school year:

The Center for Children & Young Adults
In addition, we will also be donating residual supplies and/or donated teacher supplies to a few local schools. Please see our recipients page for more information on these nonprofits.
