Explore great websites like Scratch and Code.org to enhance your computer coding skills.
Dive into a new computer language by practicing your LOGO skills on the Turtle Academy website. Click on "Playground" at the top to start exploring, or click on "Lesson" to try a new task.

Dear Rising Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade Families,
With typing becoming more important at school and at home, I would like to encourage your child to continue to practice her/his keyboarding skills over the summer. Just as Writing, Math, and Reading are standard courses for each grade, typing is a life skill that needs to be developed. With that in mind, I am including the link to the Keyboarding Without Tears website: Keyboarding Without Tears. Returning Kew-Forest students have a username and password to access the site. If you are a returning student who has forgotten his or her username or password, please email kewforest@kewforest.org and include the words "Typing Login Information" in the subject line of your email and I will help retrieve your login information. If you are a new student, your typing lessons will not start until the beginning of the school year, when you will be issued a username and password.
I would also like to challenge all returning students to work towards a typing Words Per Minute (WPM) goal for the beginning of the new school year. The beginning-of-year goal I would like each grade level to achieve is listed in the table below. Please have your child practice daily for at least ten minutes or more.
