Research Proposal

After you got selected into the research squad, you will need to meet a lecturer or a professional to ask them to be your External Advisor. But, before you meet them , you need to prepare a research proposal. When you meet them, you will show them your research proposal. Some competitions also ask for research proposal to be submitted at the beginning of registration.

Research Proposal is written in the following format.

• A4 paper size

• portrait layout

• margin: 4 cm upper, 4 cm right, 3 cm left, 3 cm lower

• text space: 1.5

You will need to present your research idea in front of the judges for the selection process. You can prepare the proposal presentation based on the proposal draft that you fill during the registration process.

Presentation Slide Design

• complete, organised

• texts are written in proper English

• consistent & harmonious theme colour

• neat and consistent layout

• consistent type and font size. Maximum 2 font types and 3 font sizes in each slide. The font size is no smaller than size 20.

• enough 'white space'

• relevant and effective illustration and visualisation

• includes proper citations and credits for the information and pictures

Presentation Skill

• loud enough voice and intonation

• manner

  • smiling, showing a happy and confident expression

  • enough eye contact, no screen reading

  • natural and effective gesture and body movement

• English is fluent with correct pronunciation and grammar

• Timing, no longer than the time allotment

• Team work

  • clear task and part distribution
