HOW TO ORDER
*NEW* MUNCH-A-LUNCH ACCOUNT
ORDER DEADLINE: The deadline to place orders for the following week's hot lunch is each Wednesday at 10pm. This allows the hot lunch coordinators time to order food and generate reports in advance.IMPORTANT: Please make sure you complete payment after placing your order. An unpaid order over 9 days will be cancelled automatically, and your child will not receive lunch. FOOD ALLERGY DISCLAIMER: Lunch items are prepared in offsite 3rd party kitchens where cross contamination with food allergens is possible. After meals are delivered, cross contamination may also occur. We can not guarantee that any food item on the following menus will be completely free of food allergens. Parents and guardians concerned with food allergies should be aware of the potential risks when ordering. Kerrisdale PAC Lunch Program will not assume any liability for adverse reactions to foods consumed or items one may come in contact with while eating any food from the Kerrisdale PAC Lunch program.

HOT LUNCH Q&A
Q: What is the hot lunch program?A: The PAC organizes the school hot lunch program through the munch-a-lunch platform ensuring students have a variety of lunch options Monday-Friday.
Q: Do I have to sign up for all 5 days?A: No, you can sign up for as few or as many days as you like based on your schedule/child’s preferences, etc!
Q: How are the meals delivered to my child?A: Parent Volunteers organize distribute the meals everyday prior to the start of lunch hour.Please consider supporting with your time (just 20-30 minutes - you can sign up HERE)
Q: How much are the meals?A: The meals range anywhere from $4-10 depending on the vendor/day/specific order. Funds raised from hot lunch program also supports fundraising efforts for programming initiatives for the students
Q: What if the hot lunch program is beyond my families financial means?A: Please speak with the school as the VSB does provide hot lunch subsidy and support for families that may require assistance.
Q: Do you have a list of options we can see prior to ordering? What type of foods are offered?A: Yes! All selections are visible in the munch-a-lunch platform. The selections vary based on the day - some of the many options include: SUBWAY sandwiches, Dominoes Pizza, Rice & Noodle Bowls, Sushi, Hot Dogs + More.
Q: Why does the PAC run the hot lunch program?A: To provide readily available lunches for busy families.To provide a wide range of options as some children have particular preferences.
Q: I have children at BOTH the main school AND the annex... A: You will require separate accounts if you have students in the Main School AND Annex, please contact support@munchalunch.com as you will require a separate login for each student.
Q: What if my child is absent for sickness or a field trip and we have ordered lunch? A: Consistent with previous years, there are no refunds for absences or field-trips, should you have planned vacation/trips and know in advance your child will not require lunch you can go online and modify your order prior to the cut-off date eaech week. If your child is absent, you can pick up their lunch at the kitchen before 12:00pm. If your child has a field trip on a lunch day, lunches will be kept in the fridge if your child wants to pick up upon their return to school.
DID YOU KNOW?The lunch vendors offer the PAC the meals at a discounted rate, thus the lunch program is one of Kerrisdale's most lucrative fundraising platforms. Your purchases through the program help fund school programs such as school busses, laptops & technology, sports equipment, classroom supplies, musical instruments + much much more.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?The PAC offers HOT LUNCH 5 days as week. We are able to continue to provide this service with your support through ordering, as well as through the short volunteer shifts (less than 1 hour) to distribute the meals daily to the students
VSB | LESS WASTEWe are following the VSB’s Zero Waste Initiative by trying to reduce the amount of one-time-use cutlery and packaging in our landfills. Please pack cutlery for your students as cutlery is not provided. Lunches are packed with compostable packaging, including your childs name and meal labels. We encourage students to bring leftover lunch home instead of throwing the food away.
VSB | HOT LUNCH SUBSIDYThe hot lunch program has a goal to ensure that no child is hungry, and every child eats healthy. If you would like to help those students, please make a donation when placing your order. If your family needs financial support, please contact your school Principal/Vice Principal, or send email to hotlunchkerrisdale@gmail.com. We aim to have all families access hot lunch. Your child's lunch will arrive to class as all others do, and any communication with the principal(s) and hot lunch coordinator(s) will be kept confidential.
