Sing. Dance. Act. Shine! At Lights Up After School, your child can experience the joys and benefits of musical theatre by taking part in our after school programs led by our talented and experienced Lights Up Musical Theatre Schools’ staff. These classes are a unique introduction to our weekend musical theatre programs and provide students with an enriching, rewarding, and most of all, fun after school activity right at the bell! 

FALL SHOW: HERCULES!

This Fall, join Lights Up After School as we travel way, way back… to Ancient Greece! Inspired by the animated film of the same name, “Hercules” is full of daring heroes, hilarious sidekicks, and menacing monsters. Our after school students will sing, dance, act, and shine in a mythical musical that is sure to “go the distance”! 

Students will be supervised from dismissal. No need to pick up your child until 5:15pm! 

Performance on the last day of classes for friends and family!

Give your child the opportunity to discover the joy of making music with the Vancouver Extracurricular Music Society (VEMS) Beginner Band!

This program is open to students in Grades 4–7 and is a great introduction to playing in a band, learning an instrument, and developing confidence, teamwork and musical skills.

Program Details

Grades: 4–7
Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3 PM to 4 PM (58 rehearsals & 2 concerts)

Cost: $720

Minimum enrollment: 20 students are needed for the band to run

Fall Term: September 22 – December 3

Winter Term: January 12 – March 4

Spring Term: April 6 – June 10

🎷 Choosing an Instrument

Instrument selection forms will be sent after registration. Please note that euphonium, saxophone and trombone may be too large for most Grade 4 students. Grade 3 students may be considered but will require an assessment in September.
