Meet The RHS Cheer Coaches

Mrs. Crystal Trevino

Cheer Coach- 8th Year

Q: What are you most excited about for this upcoming season?

A: I am most excited for the football games. I love the atmosphere of the Friday Night Lights! The band playing, the loud crowd, the bonding is what excites me the most. I love watching routines.

Q: What is most difficult about being a cheer coach?

A: What is most difficult about being a cheer coach is balancing out the different personalities we have on the team. It's difficult to know who you joke around with, and who you can't really do so with. We try our hardest to make sure everybody gets along.

Q: How do you feel about the seniors leaving?

A: Truthfully, it really has not hit me yet. It tends to start hitting me once the senior activities begin like Senior Night. I will miss the girls. But, I am mostly scared for the incoming seniors and how the team will be with them.

Q: What are you most excited about for this upcoming season?

A: For this upcoming season, I am most excited to see the girls build up on their stunting and how much progress we can make this season.

Q: What is most difficult about being a cheer coach?

A: Time Management is definitely the most difficult about being a cheer coach. Balancing my full time job along with coaching can be hard.

Q: How do you feel about the seniors leaving?

A: Seniors leaving is always hard, because we have watched them mature, especially the girls that have been with us for all 4 years.

📣Mini Cheer Camp📣

What is Mini Cheer Camp?

Mini Cheer Camp is a yearly event that RHS cheer hosts where we invite children between the ages of 3-11 to get the chance to become a Mini Ridgeview Cheerleader. Our mini cheerleaders get to learn cheers and a halftime routine that they get to preform. They will then join our very own RHS cheerleaders during a varsity game! This year, Mini Cheer Camp took place on our Go Gold game during September in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness. We went GOLD! We also had our honorary cheerleader, Faith, a cancer survivor! Be on the lookout and join us next year!

Ana

How do you feel about this year being your last year?

"I'm happy that I made a lot of memories and friends from cheer. It definitely brought me out of my shell but, I am ready for it to end so I can put all my focus into VE and my future."

How do you feel about this year being your last year?

"After being on the team for all 4 years of high school I have learned a lot and made connections with so many people. I'm sad to be letting go and moving on from all that this team has brought me but I'm happy with the memories I made and excited for what's to come next."

How do you feel about this year being your last year?

" I am excited because its our senior season and I know that we're going to have so much fun but I am also sad at the same time. Cheer has given me so many amazing friends and memories. It has definitely brought me out of my shell a lot. I am going to miss it for sure."

How do you feel about this year being your last year?

"It's a bittersweet moment because cheer is the one of the last things connected to my childhood. Knowing it's my last season makes me sad but also excited because we have such an amazing varsity squad this year. I'm hopeful for all the amazing memories I'll be making this year.

How do you feel about this year being your last year?

"I'm excited for senior year and to experience all the fun activities we get to do this year. I'm mainly so excited for my comp season this year and traveling. I can't wait to walk the stage!"

How do you feel about this year being your last year?

"I am not sad about this being my last year cheering at Ridgeview because I plan to continue cheer in college as well as completing my first and last season of comp. I am excited for the senior activities and making new memories with my friends. I am ready to move on and accomplish whatever is planned for me."

"There is defitnitely a mix of emotions but I am so excited to see what the season brings. I am forever grateful for the girls, coaches, and the memories made. I can't wait to see the next chapter for us all."

How do you feel about this year being your last year?

"I'm emotional about it being my last year but I am ready to grow and see what the futures hold. I am also very grateful to have met all of my cheer sissys."

How do you feel about this year being your last year?

"I'm sad but also excited at the same time because for what's gonna come after but at least I'm getting to experience this part of high school where i'll forever have these memories."

How do you feel about this year being your last year?

"I am sad that high school is going to be over but I'm just happy that I was able to make amazing memories these last four years with the amazing people I met from cheer and my friends. I am excited for what the future holds for us."

"It's bittersweet, I'm going to miss all the friendships I've created with everyone over the years, the memories, and everything else cheer brought but also ready to move on to whatever's next."

"I am nervous but also excited for what my future has to offer. I'm also sad knowing I won't be able to cheer with the girls again next year."

"I'm excited to experience something new, to learn new skills and create new friendships but, i also wish i could've had more time on such a great team"

"I am glad I was able to have the opportunity to be on the cheer team since I have never done cheer before high school. It was a good experience. It was fun to be involved and I'm grateful for all the kind poeple I've met doing it and all the fun memories that have came with it.
