Why did you decide to teach music?

I wanted to have a career in music but definitely not teaching. I would have liked to be a radio disc jockey, or a sound engineer for a rock band. But when it came down to actually getting a job and making a living, my professor and advisor reccomended I should go into the teaching profession. So I did and I am glad I did.

What is your favorite part of the job?

My favorite part is the time after a performance when we have accomplished a goal, and everything when very well. That's when I can relax.

What is your favorite memory teaching?

My favorite memories are when I get to see our former students continuing to perform, become professional musicians or music reachers. Makes me proud to know they love to make music as much as i do. Brings back good memories of the great times we had together "back in the day", as they say.
