Mrs. Carter grew up in Bakersfield and graduated from Ridgeview High School. After high school she attended and graduated from Fresno State University with a BS in Agriculture Education. During college Mrs. Carter worked at several of the units at the Fresno State farm including Dairy Processing, Equine, Swine, and was the Assistant Manager of the Fresno State Farmers Market. Mrs. Carter is happily married to her husband, Cory and they have two children; Gage (9) and Quinn (4). In her free time Mrs. Carter enjoys going on adventures with her family and shows reining horses competitively around the Western United States.

Mr. Wilke grew up in Taft and graduated from Taft High School. While in high school Mr. Wilke was an active member of the Taft FFA and raised hogs and cattle. After graduating from high school, Mr. Wilke attended Bakersfield College before transferring to Fresno State University. There he graduated with his BS in Agriculture Education and then went to work for Diversified Crop Insurance. After a few years working in the ag industry, Mr. Wilke decided to go back into Ag Education and started at Arvin High School. He joined Highland in 2022 and has done a tremendous job with the Ag mechanics pathway. Mr. Wilke is happily married to his wife Teighlor, who is also at Ag teacher at West High school, and they have one son, Rhett (3) and another little one on the way. In his spare time Mr. Wilke and his family enjoy visiting their vacation home in Tahoe and going on adventures together.

Ms. Whitesell grew up in Bakersfield and graduated from Frontier High School. After high school, she began her college journey at Bakersfield College, where she earned her Associate Degree in Animal Science. She then transferred to Fresno State and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Livestock Business Management. During her time at Fresno State, Ms. Whitesell was an active member of the Meat Science Club, where she discovered her passion for meat science and the livestock industry. While working in the agricultural industry, Ms. Whitesell gained experience at various county fairs and jackpots shows. It was during this time that she realized how important agriculture is to her and that she wanted to share her love for the industry with others. This inspired her to become an agriculture teacher, so she can help students develop the same passion for agriculture that she has. In her free time, Ms. Whitesell enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to the beach and mountains, and fishing.
