FBA Tools

While this is not an extensive list of the resources and tools that can be used to complete a high-quality FBA, the links below provide access to resources that will support a high-quality FBA process. Kent ISD recommends that staff minimally complete an open-ended family interview, an open-ended interview with at least one staff member, a quantifiable assessment with all staff involved, and utilize a team to collect ABC data for at least 5 occurrences of the problem behavior during the FBA.

The FBA Rubric was developed by Abbey Mix, Kent ISD, Shannon Shy, Livingston ESA, and Renee Thelen, Clinton County RESA. It can be used to assess the quality of an FBA.
