Join Kim Pickens as she walks you through a schedule to effectively implement stations (and later small groups) from day one. She will share ways to put station/rotation routines in place that should make this instructional time run smoothly for the rest of your school year.
Overwhelmed? Stressed? Feel like there is too much to do in too little time? Come and learn about proven stress relief techniques....and share your stress- relieving ideas. We are all in this together!
This class will help SPED teachers/educators create well-organized small-group instruction stations while collecting IEP data and maintaining effective classroom management.
We will discuss how to create classes in GoGuardian, scheduling sessions, and creating Scenes.
This session will directly relate to the decline in participation in extra curricular activities in all aspects - coaches, players, and officials. It will provide details of how poor sportsmanship and professionalism has had an impact in this decline and steps to take to get it back on the mend
For All Teachers - A deeper dive into the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and the requirement that all teachers provide the required accommodations for all student needs. Accommodations and modifications are created as a team. Learn how those can be interpreted and integrated into daily classroom instruction without overwhelming your instructional process. Learn how to be an effective team member to select and choose the appropriate accommodations for each student. This is beneficial to all teachers and paraprofessionals who have students with IEPs or 504s.
Attend this session to learn about this new feature in Google Classroom. With Google Classroom Add-ons, teachers can save time and simplify their grading workflows by creating assignments for EdPuzzle, Kahoot, PBS Learning Media, CK-12, Genially, and more through Google Classroom.

It will cover ways to improve sportsmanship when things don't go as planned and touch on the decline of officials due to the lack of sportsmanship and what this could look like for the future of extracurricular activities in schools across the nation.

We will look at how the human brain works in response to trauma.
Number talks are short discussions between the teacher and students about how to solve a particular mental math problem. I will give examples and show you how to facilitate a number talk with your students. These daily exercises are used to help build conceptual meaning around numbers.
For All Teachers - FBA is a Functional Behavior Analysis and BIP is a Behavior Intervention Plan. You don’t have to be a special needs student to have these conducted or applied. Learn the basics of observing for an FBA and gain some tips and resources on BIP development. Identify the function of behaviors in order to appropriately correct and reinforce the positive behavior we want our students to have. This is great for any teacher or paraprofessional dealing with students struggling with behavior. Behavior, similar to reading and math, has to be a taught skill and reinforced.
Need help managing your classroom and increasing student engagement and instructional time? This session will focus on the eight effective classroom practices that have been shown to increase the likelihood of appropriate behavior and decrease problem behavior while increasing academic learning time and student engagement. Attendees will learn about each classroom practice and will receive a checklist to help ensure each practice is in place within their classroom.
Transform lessons into active, collaborative learning experiences that engage students with Lumio. Teachers will be given the opportunity to create a lesson in Lumio. Basic SMART Panel troubleshooting tips will be discussed, as well. This session is ONLY for teachers who have SMART Panels in their classrooms.
Canva is a free-to-use online graphic design tool. Students can use it to create social media posts, presentations, posters, videos, logos, and more. Attend this session to gain insight into how your students can use this for project-based learning.
Create your own website with Google Sites. Use this 90-minute session to learn the basics of Google Sites and begin creating your own website for your classroom. It's a great way to post students' work, your classroom activities, and your class information.
