Jordan Canales is a band director at Vista Ridge Middle School in Keller ISD. He is in his seventh year of teaching and is in charge of the Wind Ensemble and the beginner brass classes. He began his first year teaching at Fossil Ridge High School in Keller ISD and has since been a teacher at Vista Ridge Middle School.

Mr. Canales earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at Arlington, graduating with Magna Cum Laude in May of 2019. During his time at UTA, he performed with many different ensembles including the Maverick Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, and Jazz Orchestra. He also taught as a marching band technician for the Duncanville High School Marching Band for two years.

Mr. Canales is native to Duncanville, Texas and began his band career at Daniel Intermediate, Byrd Middle School, and Duncanville High School. He is happily married, has two dogs, and enjoys golfing on the weekends.

Maritza Crawford

Maritza Crawford is a band director at Vista Ridge Middle School in Keller ISD. She is in her seventh year of teaching and is in charge of the Symphonic Band and the beginner woodwind classes. She began her first year teaching in Amarillo ISD and served as the head director for six years.

Mrs. Crawford earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the West Texas A&M University in May of 2019. During her time at WTAMU, she performed with many different ensembles including the WT Symphonic and Concert band, Flute Studio and The Sound of West Texas Marching Band. She served as president of Mu Phi Epsilon and a member of Kappa Kappa Psi.

Mrs. Crawford is native to Duncanville, Texas and began her band career at Daniel Intermediate, Byrd Middle School, and Duncanville High School. She is happily married, has a son, and loves hanging out with her family on the weekends.
