HANNAH POWELL is entering her ninth year teaching theatre, with her seventh year at Indian Springs Middle School. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre with an emphasis in Acting from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where she performed in over twenty productions. Favorite roles include Mother Hicks in Mother Hicks, Brutus in Julius Caesar, and Hermione in The Winter's Tale, for which she was nominated for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival’s Irene Ryan Acting Award.
Before joining Indian Springs, Mrs. Powell taught and directed at Hillsboro Junior High, where her students earned multiple awards, including 1st place in One Act Play in 2019. She also worked with Missoula Children's Theatre as a Tour Actor/Director, traveling across several states and Canada to teach and direct students.
Mrs. Powell continues to participate in local theatre, having performed as Puck in the Plaza Theatre Company's A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Catherine Simms in the Carnegie Players' The Foreigner.
Mrs. Powell is looking forward to another fantastic year with the talented students at Indian Springs.
