Indian Springs Middle School Theatre is an award-winning program, having received multiple accolades at the Middle School One Act Play Competition. Notable achievements include 2nd place for our 2025 OAP The Miracle Worker, Dancing at Lughnasa, and This Random World, as well as an overall Superior Rating for our 2021 show Proof. Additionally, we have had two winning finalists in the Stage West Neighborhood Play Contest.
Our department produces at least three shows each year: a fall musical, One Act Play, and a class play with every 5th grader. The musical and One Act Play are open to 5th through 8th graders, while One Act Play is reserved for 7th and 8th graders.
We offer a variety of theatre classes, including 5th Grade Theatre (based on a 12-week rotation), 6th Grade Theatre, Theatre 1, and Theatre Production (for 8th graders, audition-based).
In addition to participating in productions, students have opportunities to view live theatre. Throughout the school year, we attend performances at Keller High School, take field trips to Casa Mañana and a local theatre, and participate in the 6th grade touring show at the elementary schools. We also attend the Epic Waters Theatre Festival, where our students have earned Superior Ratings.
