Hello ELCN Families!

My name is Mrs. Kelly Davisson. I am honored to be your child’s first school Music Teacher and am thrilled to begin a new year at the ELC North! This is my 21st year teaching Music full time, my 17th year in KISD, and my 11th year at the ELCN. I am looking forward to sharing wonderful musical experiences with our students and helping them build a foundation as young musicians. I strive to make this class a safe and fun place to explore and experience the joy of music. Ready, Set, SING!!

In this class, we will sing, dance, listen, play and move to many different styles of music from around the world, practice steady beat, learn to play percussion instruments, use our voices in different ways, enhance stories with musical sound, tell stories through music, learn about rhythmic patterns, play musical games, practice musical and social skills, and always have great fun experiencing and making music together. We will also perform 2 music/theater programs this year, one in the fall, and one in the Spring.

I will teach a combination of our Pre-K Curriculum, and Texas Music Objectives.

Musical Notes:

The first 9 weeks of the school year will include the following curriculum studies: Building a Classroom Community (School, Friends, Citizenship, Home and Family, Instrument Families, All About Me, Body and Beat, Music Basics), Water (Fall, Community Helpers and Fire Safety, Transportation, Feelings and Mood in Music, Tempo, and Practicing Music Skills). ❤ Mrs. Kelly
