News and Announcements
Jaxon Dunn and Hardy Hassenfuss sport matching scarves of the Eiffel Tower, which Jax purchased while in Paris on the recent KRHS Europe trip organized by Theo Selby. Jaxon and Hardy, a resident at Woodcrest Village Assisted Living, have become fast friends through the Art of Storytelling ELO, which partners high school students with residents for shared reading and conversation.
On March 14, the International Save A Life Tour came to KRHS. This is a simulated experience for students to experience a variety of driving experiences related to impaired and distracted driving (texting and driving). The goal was instill good driving practices and habits with our students this school year! Check out photos.
Attention Seniors: Senior Project Presentations will be taking place during the school day on Tuesday, May 14th. Seniors should be on the look out for emails from Dr. Geraghty requesting information about presentation requirements.
Details for each component of the Senior Project can be seen by students in their Senior Project Google Classroom and the Senior Project Handbook can be accessed on the KRHS Website by clicking the following link: Senior Project Handbook
Remember that it is a KRSD Graduation requirement to complete 20 hours of community service by the time you graduate. Families of those students in the graduating class of 2024 will be receiving letters if limited hours have been recorded at the school. Forms to submit community service can be found on the school website, in your Advisory Google Classroom, and picked up in the Guidance Office. Completed forms should be turned in at the main office or guidance office to be logged.

Beginning in April:
FD Meal Planner
We will be transitioning to a new portal for parents to access online menus, FD Meal Planner. Starting April 1st this system will take the place of our current web based menu for your food service program. FD Meal Planner has much of the same functionality as our current online menus, but with more accurate nutritional information and more robust content. On the back side of the software (i.e., the part that parents don’t see), it integrates with the menu analysis and financial reporting software that FPC will be using, which will save your onsite managers a tremendous amount of administrative work so they can focus on their operations.
Attached please find a flyer announcing the change in software; you help in distributing this to your building administrators for distribution to parents would be greatly appreciated. In addition we are providing the flyer to our onsite managers for distribution, and our current menu website has a pop up message to announce that the menus are moving.
Meatless Mondays
Fresh Picks Café is renewing our participation in the Meatless Monday initiative. We participated in this initiative several years ago and are pleased and proud to bring it back to your schools. Just as the last time we participated in Meatless Mondays, the menu will be tailored to the preferences of your community – in schools where there is a lot of student and community interest in plant based and vegetarian offerings the full menu may be meatless for the day; in other schools we may just highlight a meatless entrée while still offering other entrees with meat. This is the first step in enhancing our program to feature and promote more vegetarian and plant-based menu items, in line with many students’ eating habits and with promoting good nutrition.
Attached is an informational flyer about Meatless Mondays. Again, your help in distributing this to building administrators would be greatly appreciated. This will also be provided to your onsite managers. Information about Meatless Mondays for parents and students will be accessible via link on the menus in FD Menu Planner.
With our new partnership as a part of the Whitsons Family of Companies, we’re expecting to roll out many new and exciting program enhancements in the coming months. As always, if you have any questions, concerns or comments please reach out to your District Manager or Melina Cochran directly.
