6th Grade Family and Consumer Science is designed to allow students to explore their learning style(s) and then use that information to understand techniques to help them self-advocate. Qualities that make a good friend, types of friendships, and bullying are explored, culminating in a self-reflection. Basic Childcare and Babysitting will be covered including child safety and basic care of children. Time will also be spent learning various food and kitchen safety techniques, as well as cooking terms and equipment/utensil knowledge. They will begin to use that knowledge preparing recipes in the Food Lab.
