This course aims to build confidence and further enhance students' love of reading and writing. Students will be exposed to diverse perspectives through a variety of genres. The focus of writing will be on sentence structure, paragraph structure, and narrative techniques. Your language arts teacher will strive to make learning these skills fun!
Each of us is in charge of our choices, our actions, and our learning. We are also here to support one another. Here are some specific expectations:
Be RESPECTFUL of yourself, everyone else, and all property.
Be RESPONSIBLE for your actions, including the consequences of your actions. You are also responsible for being prepared for every class with your charged Chromebook, charger, binder, writing utensil, and independent reading book.
Be RESILIENT as a learner. Use your best effort and remember that mistakes help us change and grow!
Notes About POWER SCHOOL
Please check PowerSchool frequently. It allows teachers to effectively communicate with parents about their child's progress. When looking at individual grades consider the number of points your child has earned out of the total number of points available. Look at the score column, not the percent or letter grade. A homework assignment passed in on time and complete will earn a score of 1 out of 1 points. It is not really 100% or an A.
