What is CalFresh?
CalFresh is a nutrition program that can help households buy healthy foods. In California, CalFresh used to be known as the Food Stamp Program. Nationally, the program is called SNAP. It is funded by the federal government. CalFresh benefits are issued on an EBT card that works like a debit card and can be used at most grocery stores and many farmers markets to purchase food.
Central California Food Bank
The Central California Food Bank provides mobilized food distributions, helps create local neighborhood markets to purchase fresh vegetables and fruit, and assists with CalFresh outreach.
Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission
The Fresno EOC provides food to families residing in rural communities and inner city areas impacted by weather issues and economic downturn.
No documentation is required to receive food. We will ask you the following questions to register with us to receive food:
First and last name
Birthdate
How many people live in the home?
How many under the age of 18 years?
How many 5 years of age or younger?
California Meals for Kids App
The CA Meals for Kids mobile application helps you find nearby California Afterschool and Summer Meal Programs Sites through your iOS, Android, or Microsoft devices.
The Emergency Meal Sites section may be used during unanticipated school closures due to emergency situations.
You can find sites by location shown on a map or list. Most sites will provide additional information, location, contact information, and pictures. You can also save your favorite locations on the app.
