How to support your new physicians & nurse practitioners
Provide a good orientation from the very beginning
Create a sense of belonging in the clinic by invitations to dinners/special events/activities
Offer them opportunities to contribute in a meaningful way to the leadership in the clinic
Support fair and equitable payment structures
Support the physician to take time off by finding locums in advance
Introduce the physician to the local community with their unique social interests in mind
Find a peer to peer connection
Check in on a weekly basis to see if any other support is needed especially the first couple of months
