Students are instructed in written expression based on their IEP goals, strengths, and needs.
During writing class, students practice the following:
complete sentences
simple paragraphs (including topic sentence, details, and conclusion)
types of writing including narrative, persuasive, informative
participate in grammar lessons/activities
engage in writing across the curriculum (i.e., writing in science class)
engage in all parts of the writing process (i.e., brainstorm, rough drafts, editing, re-writing, and publishing)
