Answer these questions with your team. Think about how you want to move forward in this new world. Once you are done, set up a meeting with Mr. Ashman to discuss. You can also print the progress pages where we will make notes to keep you on track.
After you have met with Mr. Ashman to discuss your answers to the questions above, you can tell the story of your first night in this new world.
Remember, you would not know all of the things that have happened in the world that first night. You know that something happened, that none of your technology seems to be working, and that the field trip has gone way, way off schedule. You suspect that this is a big deal, but not the specifics.
Use the camera on your Chromebook to record your story. Pretend that you are talking to one of your cell phones. You know it isn't working properly, but you are hoping that it still sends out your message.
Decide who your audience will be. Are you trying to call your parents? Did you try to contact emergency services? Did you send the message to a sibling or friend or a teacher?
Think about how you would get through the first night. Did you build a fire? How? Did you find shelter? Did you have food, or find food? What did you hear during the night? What did you talk about? How did you feel?
Think about how you would come across in the video. Would you sound scared? Angry? Excited?
What would you tell them? The main point of the activity is to share the story of your first night, but the video will be more realistic if you ask your audience to send help or food or a solar phone charger or...
Have fun with it. Should your faces be dirty? Are you all crowded around the phone sitting on a rock? Are you passing it back and forth? Do you all take turns talking or do you interrupt and argue?
