This weeks writing Task.
Paragraphs - What does it take to create the perfect Paragraph, what does a paragraph have in it? Lets have a look.
Writing is one thing we learn to do from the day we first come to school. But now it is time to concentrate on the process or steps that we should be doing.
Prewriting. We call this brainstorming. Think about who we are writing for, what do we want to say, ideas and ways of grabbing the readers attention.
Drafting. This is where we let it all come out of our head. When we are younger we think this is the end of our writing. When we get older we learn that this is an important step but not the end.
Revising or recrafting. Read what you have written, go over it with a fine tooth comb. Can you make things clearer, can you use better words or improve on things. Go through sentence by sentence and look for ways to improve on what you have already written.
Editing. Double checking spelling, sentences and correcting errors.
Publishing. How am I going to present?
Your Task this week is to conference with a buddy who you normally would not talk too. Do not choose your best friend or someone you normally hang out with.
Get them to read your story to you. (Fix errors they notice.)
Get them to give you feedback on your story. Does it need more work?
Find appropriate pictures, at least two per page from Google Image search. Don't make them silly or too bright. Try and get transparent images that look right on the page.
Conference with an adult, Chris. or Mr A.
