This course aims to comprehensively improve reading comprehension and listening comprehension through various autonomous activities of reading and listening.

There are three classes, "listening time", "reading time", and "activity time".

In "listening time" and "reading time", each class does not listen to or read the same thing, but each person chooses what he / she wants to hear / read from online resources and reads it by himself / herself. I will listen. You can also listen to the videos and sounds you find yourself, and read your own books and manga.

At the end of the lesson, write a learning record (title, fun, impressions, etc.) about what you heard or read that day. Since it is your own record, you can enter it in your mother tongue.

In "Activity Time", we will have a book talk to share the impressive words and pages of the book you read that day and your favorite characters with your classmates. In addition, I do various activities every time, such as writing letters to characters, thinking about the continuation of the story, writing book reviews, and so on.

At the end of the course, we will create works based on the books we read during the semester. This is a project that students can freely express, such as stories, poetry, manga, videos, games, and book presentations. We will invite visitors to present their works.

Teaching materials / reference materials

Teaching materials will be distributed and introduced in the class.

Evaluation Criteria

• Tasks (learning logs, reflections, book talks, writing tasks)

• Final task (production and presentation).
