Understanding the world
Exploring healthy eating with colorful creations
In the energetic world of education, fostering healthy habits lays a crucial foundation for lifelong well-being. Introducing the principles of healthy eating right from an early age not only shapes their dietary preferences but also instills value that can last a lifetime. Our EY3 learners engaged in an innovative exercise "Build your healthy diet". They had a hands-on experience creating their own colorful and nutritious platter of healthy fruits and vegetables. This activity wasn't just about moving muscles, it was about understanding the importance of healthy eating in a playful and engaging manner. It was simple yet effective. Each learner was given a variety of colorful cutouts representing fruits and vegetables. With giggles and smiles, they eagerly set out to organize these cutouts onto plates. The joyous atmosphere was contagious with laughter, echoing through the classroom, as learners proudly displayed their "nutritious plates". By doing this amazing fun-filled activity our young learners delved into discussions about the nutritional benefit of each fruit and vegetable. They were encouraged to include a rainbow of colors in their diet.
Numeracy
Can you count backwards?
At Kanakia Kids International school, we believe in making learning an exciting adventure for our early years learners. Our little learners embarked on a fun-filled journey to master the skill of counting backward from 30 to 1. We introduced backward counting using vibrant flashcards, starting from 30 and ending at 1. Each session began with showing the flash cards in reverse order and having the children repeat the numbers aloud. This visual and auditory practice helped reinforce the numerical sequence in a fun and engaging manner.
Atelier
Texture Art
In the colorful realm of learner's art, mastering textures with black sketch pens unveils a world of creativity. Through the simple yet versatile tools of lines and shapes, learners depicted a myriad of textures, from the smoothness of glass to the roughness of stone. Encouraging learners to experiment with varying lines and shapes empowers them to evoke different tactile sensations in their drawings. Whether they sketch the intricate patterns of leaves or the other rugged terrain of mountains, each stroke of the pen added depth and dimension to their artwork. Learners also created a texture figure by joining the texture squares one after the other to make it more creative. By honing their skills in texture drawing, young artists not only expressed themselves but also developed a keen sense of observation and attention to detail.
