International Day Of Families
International Family Day was celebrated at Kanakia International School on 15th May 2024. It aimed to strengthen family bonds by providing opportunities for learners to engage in fun, collaborative activities that deepened their relationships. It encouraged social skills by promoting interactions among learners and their peers helping them to develop socialization and teamwork abilities. Family Day encouraged the learners to celebrate diversity by highlighting and appreciating the different family structures and cultural backgrounds within our kindergarten community.
EY 1 learners were encouraged to show their family pictures and identify their family members. This activity helped learners understand the importance of family bonds and fostered a sense of belonging. It enhanced their social skills and emotional development. Through activities and interactions, learners learned to appreciate and celebrate their families.
EY2 learners were encouraged to dress up as their favourite family members and speak a few words about them. This activity gave them the opportunity to build their confidence by expressing their thoughts in front of their peers. They were further engaged in an activity where they made a family frame with ice cream sticks and drew their family portrait. This enhanced their fine motor skills and helped in developing their cognitive skills. Family Day activities helped to reinforce the values of love, respect, and support within our learners.
EY3 learners brought a picture of their favourite family moment and shared the memory with their peers. This gave them an opportunity to practice language skills as they described their families and participated in discussions. They were further encouraged to draw a family portrait and make a family frame for the same. Creative tasks like drawing family portraits and making family photo frames enhanced their fine motor skills and creativity. The event also helped in building a positive school experience in the learning process, which boosted learner's confidence and enthusiasm for the school.
