Spreading positivity and energy around in our classrooms we started the first week of the academic year.. WITH A BANG!
As the school commences, one of the major challenges faced by parents is dealing with the settlement period of their little bundles of joy. However, helping the child settle quickly at school is easier than it seems.
How to help the child settle quickly at the school? Here are a few tips-
Ask positive questions. Ask the child “What was good at school today?” This will help them reiterate the positive experiences at school.
Establish a routine as the child starts school such as waking up on time, dressing independently and eating their food at a designated time.
Praise the child for doing tasks at school.
Encourage them to eat their snacks during break time. Try not to use gadgets/mobiles/show videos while they eat their food at home. Let them always focus on the food while they eat.
Give them some time to settle as every child is unique and takes their own time to adapt to the new routine. Your anxiety rubs onto the child so make sure that you are comfortable and happy while dropping the child.
Celebrate achievements. Acknowledge and celebrate your child's accomplishments, no matter how small. Positive reinforcement can boost their confidence and motivation to continue adapting to school life.
Be patient and supportive. Transitioning to school can be challenging for both children and parents. Be patient with your child as they adjust to this new experience, and offer plenty of love and support along the way.
Arrive on time while picking them up after school. Arriving on time to receive the child can help them feel secure and confident about reuniting with the parents by the end of each day eventually helping them to go to school happily.
