Language and Literacy
Imaginative Book Detectives on World Book Day!
EY3’s bright-eyed readers turned into curious Word Detectives this World Book Day! With magnifying eyes and eager minds, they explored storybooks to spot new and exciting words, sparking a love for reading and storytelling. Along the way, they also learned about key parts of a book — the title, front cover, back cover, writer, illustrator, and even where to find the price tag! This joyful integration of language and literacy not only boosted their vocabulary but also helped them develop an appreciation for books in the most playful and meaningful way.
Getting to Know Me – EY3 Self-Portraits!
Our curious minds of EY3 took a creative step into self-awareness by making adorable self-portraits! They proudly tagged their artwork with details like their name, class, and teacher’s name. This simple yet meaningful activity helped them recognize their own identity while getting familiar with their new school environment. It was a wonderful way to build confidence, celebrate uniqueness, and foster a sense of belonging from the very start.
Math
BINGO Fun with Numbers – EY3 Learners Dive into Math!
EY3’s little math champs had a blast playing a lively game of Number BINGO as they explored number recognition from 1 to 20! With focus and excitement, they sharpened their skills in spotting tricky look-alike numbers like 3 and 13, 5 and 15, 10 and 0. This engaging activity turned into a joyful journey through the world of mathematics, building not just number sense but also confidence and quick thinking!
Well being
Kindness Crew Builds Classroom Rules!
The Kindness Crew of EY3 came together for a thoughtful discussion on good and not-so-acceptable behaviours. With open hearts and active listening, our little learners sorted actions into what helps us learn and grow, and what might hurt feelings or disrupt our space. They eagerly shared real-life examples, asked questions, and reflected on how their choices affect others. Together, we reached a meaningful agreement and co-created our very own classroom rules, proudly displayed in our learning space.
This empowering activity nurtured a sense of responsibility, empathy, and teamwork — laying the foundation for a positive and caring classroom environment. Through this process, learners are not only becoming responsible members of their class but also learning the value of respect, helping hands, and working together as one community.
Dance
This cycle, we’ve been focusing on the magic of warm-up exercises paired with fun, upbeat music. Today, the learners did warm-up exercises, which included body stretching, jumping, and spine exercises. After that, they participated in a fun dance activity where they danced to different songs. These energetic sessions help our tiny dancers prepare their bodies for movement while boosting their mood and coordination. We’re helping them build strength, coordination, and flexibility, all while having fun!
Yoga
Today's yoga session with EY3 Learners focused on introducing them to the foundational pose of Tadasana . The session aimed to help children understand the importance of posture, balance, and mindfulness in their daily lives. Children learned to stand with their feet together or slightly apart, arms by their sides, and engage their core muscles. They were encouraged to feel grounded and stable, like a mountain. The session was a valuable introduction to yoga for the EY3 Learners, laying the groundwork for future practices. Tadasana serves as a foundational pose that can enhance their physical and mental well-being, and it's exciting to see them continue to explore the benefits of yoga.
STREAM
Learning by Doing
EY3 learners actively participated in a hands-on engineering and design challenge during their STREAM session. They worked on improving their gluing and fine motor skills. Learners used their thinking and problem-solving skills to arrange popsicle sticks carefully at 90-degree angles, trying to make a perfect square shape. After building their squares, they used liquid glue and colorful paper pieces to decorate them beautifully. This fun activity helped learners practice hand-eye coordination, learn about shapes like squares, and understand how things fit together. By using their creativity and building skills, learners started learning basic engineering ideas. The session was full of excitement, independence, and imagination, and it helped prepare them for more hands on activity in the future.
