The Kalsom Fellowship is an innovative initiative designed to address the pressing issue of educational inequality by fostering widespread awareness and inspiring meaningful engagement through the dedicated efforts of our Fellows. Our primary objective is to cultivate a diverse group of Fellows who will act as agents of the Kalsom Movement, working closely with Committee members to expand the reach and impact of Kalsom initiatives.
This year, we are committed to nurturing a varied group of Fellows, each dedicated to becoming agents of change within their respective youth communities. Our comprehensive programme exposes Fellows to the four critical dimensions of societal transformation: political, social, environmental, and economic aspects. Through a blend of immersive learning experiences, stimulating discussions, and hands-on projects, our Fellows will gain a profound understanding of the interconnected nature of these elements and their essential role in creating a more equitable educational landscape.

Willing to communicate with passion upon engaging with TKM’s target audience.
Creative in curating content and planning events and initiatives.
Motivated to create and contribute to a positive culture for others.
This highly depends on what initiatives you would like to carry out and when it will be. Naturally, during peak seasons such as our summer programmes, more hours would be added in to boost outreach. Averagely, it’s ideal to put in only about 5 hours a week as a Kalsom Fellow! However as mentioned before, it varies, so it could be less or more depending on the initiative and timeline. You are encouraged to attend meetings and discussions to avoid any misinformation.
What’s the difference between a Kalsom Fellow and the TKM Committee Members?
TKM Committee Members are responsible for conducting events, carrying out programmes to support our beneficiaries, and searching for external parties for collaborations and sponsorships to ensure TKM’s sustainability. Kalsom Fellows carry the image of The Kalsom Movement, and complement the role of the organising committee by increasing realisation regarding the impact of our initiatives to the community through the expansion of outreach, and also by engaging with other external parties for future events.
Will I be working closely with the TKM Committee Members?
Yes! Kalsom fellows are parked under TKM as a whole, hence you will be working closely with us, especially the Strategic Department.
I’m still unsure about how I can execute my responsibilities, will I be guided throughout my tenure?
Definitely. As mentioned previously, you will be working hand-in-hand with the Strategic Department in strategising outreach for TKM, and planning for initiatives under the Kalsom Fellows! Meetings and discussions will be held to explain and share the roles and opinions.
How long is my tenure expected to last?
As of now, your tenure will typically last until the last fellowship event takes place, which is estimated around December. However, you will be given the opportunity to pursue another term as a Kalsom Fellow should you wish to do so.
