The Kalsom Movement (TKM) is an independent and voluntary student-led charity movement that aims at tackling educational inequality in Malaysia.
TKM had been fully endorsed by Malaysia's Ministry of Education (MoE), Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), Rakan Muda, and United Kingdom and Eire (Ireland) Council for Malaysian Students (UKEC) as well as being the longest-running student-led project as recognized by the Malaysian Book of Records.
TKM focuses on developing Malaysian Future leaders by empowering university students to share their knowledge and skills in assisting younger and economically-disadvantaged Malaysian students to achieve their ambitions
The Kalsom Movement aims to address education inequality in Malaysia by bridging the knowledge and opportunity gap faced by underprivileged students in rural areas, benefiting all students regardless of their background to result in an impactful contribution to the development of society and the nation.
Mission
To empower underprivileged students with awakened potentials to pursue excellence in life as well as fueling up their capacity to contribute to society through holistic evolution.
The 30th Anniversary emblem of The Kalsom Movement stands as a symbol of our persistent dedication over thirty years and our ongoing mission to uplift underprivileged students both in Malaysia and around the world. This landmark anniversary signals the start of many more ambitious projects. Anchored in the heartening story of Puan Kelthom Abdullah, a tenacious single mother from Kelantan who endeavoured tirelessly for her children's welfare, our movement has seen remarkable growth.
Holding the distinction of being the longest-standing student-led motivational camp in the Malaysian Books of Record, The Kalsom Movement epitomises the lasting impact of youth-led initiatives. Originating from a sincere effort by empathetic Malaysian students in the UK, The Kalsom Movement has significantly altered the lives of thousands over the years. This heritage, emerging from a mother's valiant struggle and energised by "30 Years of Kalsom Spirit", stands as a symbol of optimism that we embrace as we look to the future. Celebrating this important juncture, we see it as merely the beginning of an even more influential path ahead. The Kalsom Movement, representing a beacon of hope and transformation, looks forward to scaling new heights in the future.
