Theme introduction:
In this context Open dialogue is a way of working with mental health service users . As a process it offers different ways of understanding the reasons for the experience and an effective and empowering way to find resolution. According to recovery-oriented thinking, the service user is the expert in their own life. In order to utilize service users expertise, we need communication - instead of monologue, we aim to dialogue. The idea is to integrate service users' experiences to staff members' professional expertise.
Power is a key element in Recovery orientation because it relates to how individuals experience control over their own lives and recovery, which is an essential part of the recovery process and overall well-being. There are tensions in the cooperation of the staff members and service users that are related to power. Recovery orientation aims to reduce traditional hierarchies between mental health professional and service users
