Wednesday 1 st September 2021 - COVID-19 Update
Kia ora Tui Whanau,
Tomorrow afternoon we will hear if we are staying in Level 4 lockdown for another week, or moving out into level 3. It is likely we will move out. The ministry guidelines are clear that at alert level 3 children and young people should still learn from home. Therefore, on Monday, the majority of Tui students will continue with their online learning programme from home, which I will continue to put up on our class site.
However, Kaingaroa School will be open for those tamariki (children) whose parents or carers need to go to work and cannot look after their children. If this is your child, please email the office by 1.00pm today if you are in this situation so we can plan for students at school. All students who work at school will still follow the online programmes as teachers are required to run these as well so they will be one class in a bubble of ten.
Below is a link to our class google hangouts which will run at 9.30am and 11am for 30 minutes every day, to check in with the learning. These have been going really well and it has been great to see so many of the class attending.
The 11am session will be more like a tutorial for those who would like extra support with the learning, so not everyone needs to attend - just like at school. There is also a Teacher Aid Google Link where Ben and Amanda can work with some of you.
As always I will be checking my emails regularly throughout the day in case you, or your parents, need support, and giving feedback on your learning. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact me at anytime on my email: eliseb@kaingaroa.co.nz or call or text me on my mobile: 021 351 730
Kia Kaha Tui Whanau!
