It's a courageous and loving decision to seek therapy.

Thank you for considering giving me the privilege of accompanying you in this profound experience.

内心的转变需要勇气与爱心。

谢谢你考虑选择我来帮助你度过这一重要的旅程。

If you choose to work with me, our therapy can become a kind of “home” that we co-construct together. Here, we'll strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable to be your whole, authentic self, where you can feel heard and deeply understood. It can be a place where you'll hopefully find comfort and soothing in difficult times, as well as be challenged and supported to grow in a way that's aligned with your values and goals. As we work together, you'll be supported to gain more clarity around your feelings and behavioral patterns, as well as develop more freedom and agency around your choices about work, life, and relationships. At the end of your therapy, we'll ideally have created a more expanded, supportive, and resilient sense of “home" that will accompany you into your future.

In my practice, I work with children, adults of all ages, and couples. I am also fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Currently, I am only accepting clients for private pay, online therapy (sliding scale available).

In addition, I have several special areas of focus:

Multicultural and immigrant experiences

  • First-, 1.5-, second-generation and beyond;

  • Healing from trauma and loss in your own or your family's immigration experience;

  • Interracial/intercultural relationships;

  • Finding a path that's both connected to and distinct from your family and culture-of-origin;

  • Identifying your unique strengths and resiliency as an immigrant or child of immigrants.

Contemporary Asian American issues

  • Meeting the demands of work and family in the context of important cultural values;

  • Working through racism/racialization, "model minority" myth, and imposter syndrome;

  • Developing your own culturally congruent leadership style;

  • Improving communication, managing conflict and ruptures between parents and children and within couples;

  • Navigating family separations/reunions and strengthening ties across a globalized world;

  • Bonding with children and helping them develop more resilience and positive behaviors.

Young adulthood

  • Building successful relationships and a family of your own;

  • Navigating your own goals and values in the context of your family-of-origin;

  • Identifying and clarifying your own goals and values;

  • Workplace stress and burnout;

  • Creating the foundation for a balanced life that supports both your professional and personal goals.

I do not work directly with insurance, but can provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. If you're interested in working with me for psychotherapy, please email me at dr.meiyang@kadaba.com.
