Nakuru County under the leadership of H.E Governor Susan Kihika is keen on the use of innovation and technology in service delivery in all the health facilities across the county.
Towards this, the County is set to pilot the Mama Hub application at Bondeni, Annex and Bahati Health facilities to help digitize maternal health information through the digitization of the Antenatal Care (ANC) booklet for mothers using the facilities.
The application has been developed by a consortium of partners including Kabarak University, Strathmore University, Technical University of Mombasa, IntelliSoft Consulting and e-Med Solutions.
It will help ensure timely interventions from the community level during the pregnancy journey since the Community Health Volunteers (CHV) can refer the mothers to the health facilities near them to get necessary services.
This technology will be a significant referral tool which will help in reducing maternal mortality in the county. A user acceptance testing workshop led by Director Administration and Planning, Dr Joy Mugambi has already been carried out.
