I have learned so much about what it means to be a better human. Below are the books I have read this school year. Though some were more challenging than others, the time I've spent getting to know these stories has forever impacted me as a person. From learning how to slow down in relationships, to empathy, to human nature - my thoughts are changed. I feel my reading has strongly improved this year. I learned how to not just a read story, but how to pull out its deeper meanings.
Books I've Read This Year - 10 total!!!
These titles were all so amazing. I loved being able to choose which books I wanted to read and IR time in class helped me stay invested in my books.
I am excited to say that I feel I have successfully moved from an Introvert Reader to a Polygamist Reader. I used to just read one type of book, one at a time. Now I find that I enjoy having several novels going. I have one read in class during our IR time and several I am reading at home. I think this shift occurred because of our in-class reading time. I was able to visit the library often during our 15 minutes. Moreover, having the time in class to read increased my confidence in my reading ability. I think these two things helped me move from Introvert Reader to Polygamist Reader.
I chose to order my books in this way because I felt that Romeo and Juliet was very difficult for me, initially. The language was hard for me to understand, but began to feel like a challenge as I got better at it!
I think language made books more or less difficult for me. The Hate U Give was such a simple read because the author speaks in a conversational tone that I felt connected to.
