Scholarships
Lake Area Technical College Foundation is once again offering Dual Credit Scholarships to help high school students offset the cost of their dual credit courses.
Eligibility:
Students enrolled in an LATC Dual Credit course who also qualify for free or reduced lunches or have financial need are eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted August 10, 2026 – September 14, 2026 through our online scholarship portal at www.lakeareatech.awardspring.com
Application Instructions for Students:
To access the Dual Credit Scholarship application, students must:
1. Be registered for their Dual Credit course and have received their LATC MyPortal login credentials.
2. Log in to the scholarship portal using their MyPortal username (add @lakeareatech.edu, e.g., AB123456@lakeareatech.edu) and MyPortal password.
3. Select the Dual Credit Scholarship Application and enter the counselor-provided access code.
Cost
The cost per dual credit is $78.48 per credit. A 3 credit class will cost $235.44.
FAQs
Returning students have already been provided their registration information with their username, password and email. New students have been emailed this information to the email that was provided on their approval form. If a student said they have not received this information, please have them search their email from their Approval Form with a subject line of “LATC Dual Credit registration information”.

As a reminder, in summary, starting in Fall 2020, students participating in the HS dual credit program are no longer eligible to participate in HSDC if the student receives a “W” or “F” grade in a HSDC course. However, if the student demonstrates “good cause,” s/he may submit a petition for continued eligibility. Further, should a student be unable to demonstrate good cause, s/he may pay for the full HSDC tuition rate at his/her own expense currently at $145. Full policy is SDCL 13-28-37.1.

School start- August 24
Labor day- September 7th No School
Last day to drop a class without having to pay- September 4th
Tuition due- students can pay any time after August 24th up until September 21st. We now have online payment available or they can pay by calling 882-5284 Ext 298 with a credit card or mail a check.
Native American Day- Oct 12th. No School
Mid term, last day to drop a class with a withdraw passing grade- October 20th
Veteran’s Day- November 11th- No School
Thanksgiving- November 25-27th- No School
Semester end- December 18th
