National Honor Society 

NHS empowers and equips students with the knowledge and skills to be transformative leaders in their school, community, and beyond. In addition, it provides a necessary bridge between students and school leaders! By empowering, championing, and recognizing well-rounded students, NHS provides schools with a values-based framework to elevate a culture of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

NHS Requirements 2025-2026 

Requirements: 

1. Must be a Second Semester Sophomore, Junior, or Senior

2. GPA of 3.5 or higher for Juniors and Seniors 

3. GPA of 3.75 or higher for Sophomores 

4. Membership is open to those students who meet the required standards in four areas of evaluation: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

• Juniors or Seniors that did not get in last year can this year if they meet requirements. 

More information on Sophomores: 

Sophomores will be allowed in National Honor Society at second semester. 

All sophomores with a 3.75 GPA or above will be eligible to begin participation in NHS activities at the beginning of second semester. Sophomores must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or above throughout the entire second semester, failure to do so will result in loss of group participation. Along with the GPA requirement, sophomores must attend meetings, complete NHS community service, and participate in the upcoming service project starting in January. I will keep track of who showed up to what activities and meetings and have that be part of the deciding factor when reviewing applications. 

Ms. Kroger and I will begin the application process in January with the sophomores, having applications due March 2nd. This will allow us to truly see and understand if the students are dedicated and committed to being a part of NHS. A group of 5 faculty members will then select eligible members based off of the required GPA and the 4 pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Those members will be inducted in the spring (date to be determined). 

The junior and senior GPA requirement will be set at 3.50 or above and must be maintained. Failure to meet the requirements or wrongful action will result in dismissal from the group.
