My name is Meghan Cranston and I will be the Early Childhood Educator in your kindergarten class this year. Here's a littel bit about me. I was born and raised in Kenora, mostly Keewatin. I attended Keewatin Public School, Lakewood Intermediate and Beaver Brae Secondary I have had a few career changes. I went to Confederation College for nursing after I graduated, I realized I had more of a passion for teaching so I went back to school and received my diploma in Early Childhood Education. I graduated in June so I am new to teaching but I am super excited to learn and grow as an educator. I was able to participate in distance learning for this program so I am some what experience in the virtual classroom and the struggles that comes with it.
I am a mother to three children, Alexander 10, Aurora 8 and Ethan 4. Ethan just started kindergarten this year, so I fully understand how many parents are feeling about the 2020 school year and how hard the decision was to choose virtual learning. In my spare time, my family and I enjoy getting outdoors and enjoying what nature has. We like to go swimming, for hikes, bike rides, boating, fishing. In the winter we loved to skate which is a big passion of mine. When I was younger I was in the Keewatin Figure Skating Club where I went for being a skater, to volunteering with the younger group, to teaching younger kids. Now that my children are skating, I help out on the executive when I can.
I am so excited to get to meet and learn more about you child in the classroom. I know we will have lots of fun.
