2025-2026 Fall/Year Registration
RHS students must fill out the Google Form to register for Fall and Spring Hawaii Online Courses. Students will be registered in the order students completely fill out the form. SEE ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE BELOW.**
Round 1: April 10, 2025 (8:30 a.m.) – May 8, 2025 (2:30 p.m.)
Round 2: August 4, 2025 (8:30 a.m.) – August 7, 2025 (2:30 p.m.)
During the regular school year (not including summer), primary schools' site coordinators register students for courses.
COURSE DATES
NOTE: Hawaii Online Courses follows it's own school calendar! Please note the course start and end dates below.
2025-2026 Year Classes: August 13, 2025 to May 28, 2026
2025 Fall Semester Classes: August 13, 2025 to December 19, 2025
2026 Spring Semester Classes: January 14, 2026 to May 28, 2026
ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE**
Students must be enrolled full-time in a Hawaii DOE or charter school in order to take Hawaii Online Courses classes.
Parents: To enroll your child in HOC classes, please speak with your child's school counselor or Site Facilitator who will be able to assist you. Roosevelt students must sign up on the Google form, by signing the form Roosevelt students/parents have read and agree to all the conditions as stated on the homepage as set forth by Roosevelt High School, HOC, and HIDOE guidelines/rules.
Students must meet with the School Site Facilitator and/or counselor at their primary school to discuss and determine course selection(s).
Students must provide a valid email address. Gmail is preferred as other email may filter HOC messages into the spam folder.
Students may only take up to two HOC courses a semester.
School Site Facilitators register students in the desired course(s) using the online registration site, in the order received.
Hawaii Online Courses is a supplementary program provided by the Hawaii DOE and secondary courses are offered to students free of charge during the school year. (Note: HOC summer courses are fee-based). A designated School Site Facilitator is responsible for registering students for semester and yearlong HOC courses.
MIDDLE SCHOOLS
Middle school students may register for only Algebra I, Geometry, and World Languages
It is recommended middle school site facilitators consult with HOC instructors prior to registration to determine the appropriateness of course content and placement for students.
Students must be self-motivated as courses are rigorous requiring much time and dedication outside of regular school hours.
Students must attend mandatory online meetings as required by instructors. Times are determined by instructors but generally held in the evenings.
STUDENT ORIENTATION
NEW STUDENTS
All students must complete the mandatory Student Orientation course in Canvas by the deadline specified in your registration confirmation.
A score of 52 or higher is needed to pass this requirement.
YOU WILL BE DROPPED FROM HAWAII ONLINE COURES, if you do not pass the Student Orientation.
RETURNING HAWAII ONLINE COURSES STUDENTS
If you already passed the Student Orientation, you do not need to complete this requirement again.
DROP POLICY
Students will have up to 6 weeks after the start of the session to drop a course. For Year courses, this 6-week grace period occurs in the first semester only. After 6 weeks, students may not drop the course. The student must remain in the course until the end of the session and receive the grade earned. Grades will be posted to your official DOE transcript. Roosevelt students must fill out the drop form request and have parents/guardian sign and return it to the site coordinator.
