Listed below are Summer School options available at McKinley High and Hawaii Online Courses.
Registration Window: March 24 - May 29
Registration forms are available as follows:
Pick up a hardcopy from Ms. Sumida in MS3 (open from 7:00 am)
Pick up a hardcopy from any counselor
Download and print page 3 of the document to the right.
Summer School is for credit recovery only. This means that students can only take courses to make up previously failed courses.
McKinley Summer School is open to current McKinley High School students only.
Students can register for up to two (2) credits.
Students will need to obtain their counselor's signature on the registration form to approve requested courses.
Students who need help choosing a course should contact their counselor.
All courses, with the exception of Modern History of Hawaii, will be through the online program EdGenuity. Modern History of Hawaii will be held in-person on McKinley's campus from June 3-19.
EdGenuity courses are not NCAA approved or accepted by four-year colleges/universities since credit is awarded as pass/fail versus a letter grade.
Students who do not have access to a device/WiFi may come on campus to work

Registration is complete when registration form and payment are submitted. Your receipt of payment will be your confirmation of enrollment.
Payment form with payment (cash, Alu Like voucher, or check made payable to McKinley High School) must be submitted to Ms. Sumida in MS3 during non-instructional time. MS3 will be open from 7:00 AM daily.

The Registration Window is open from April 7, 8:30 am to April 23, 2:30 pm.
Parents/Guardians must register students online (schools cannot register students for the summer session).

HVLN Hawaii Online Courses are FREE this summer for DOE Public and Charter School Students. Students are only allowed to enroll in up to one credit for summer school.
