Hawaii Online Courses for School Year 2025-2026
The Department of Education offers online courses taught by qualified Hawaii licensed teachers. There is no fee to take fall and spring courses. Courses are treated like any other course a student will take at McKinley High School; letter grades are posted on the student's permanent transcript and calculated into their cumulative GPA.
2025-2026 Year Classes (1 credit). August 13, 2025 to May 28, 2026
Fall 2025 Semester Classes (0.5 credit). August 13, 2025 to December 19, 2025
Spring 2026 Classes (0.5 credit). January 14, 2025 to May 28, 2026
Hawaii Online Courses are NOT recommended for students who are trying to make up a credit they have previously failed (credit recovery). It is recommended for students who are trying to earn credits (credit accrual or acceleration).
The window for Hawaii Online Courses registration will take place in the following rounds.
Round 1 (April 10 through May 8 by 12:00 PM)
Round 2 (August 4-7)
Complete the registration form by clicking on the button below corresponding to the correct year or semester course you plan to take. You must be logged into your school Gmail account. A maximum total of two courses per semester for the year is allowed.
Submit the Parent Consent Form and Publication and release forms. Scroll down to download a copy of the forms or you may pick up a hardcopy from Ms. Panquites in Rm. A127. Completed forms must be submitted to Ms. Panquites in person or via email at lisa.panquites@k12.hi.us before a student can be registered. Forms must be resubmitted every year.
Both forms to the right must be submitted to Ms. Panquites before the student can be enrolled. Copies of the form can also be picked up from any counselor. Forms need to be resubmitted every year.
