Students who meet the requirements to be a CTE Concentrator will be recognized for their achievement with a CTE Concentrator Cord. Students can proudly wear it as they receive their diplomas.
CTE Concentrator Cord Requirements:
Complete two courses in a single program of study
Students who meet the requirements to earn a CTE Honors Recognition Certificate will be recognized for their achievement with a certificate that they receive along with their diploma. Students will also receive a gift from the CTE Department which consists of a USB flash drive and a portable power bank charger.
CTE Honors Recognition Certificate Requirements:
Complete two courses in a program of study
Attain a Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
Earn a B or better in each required program of study coursework
Meet or exceed proficiency on performance-based assessments for the corresponding program of study
Performance-Based Assessments (PBAs):
A performance-based assessment is a real-world, industry problem-based, or design-based challenge that measures students' ability to apply the skills and knowledge learned from the completion of a CTE program of study. The challenges, developed by local industry partners, task students to devise a solution or create a product and present their ideas to industry professionals. The PBA consists of three components:
Technical writing
Oral presentation
Performance assessment
The PBA is conducted every year by the Windward Academy for CTE.
