Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

This site has been developed to assist schools with the volume of guidance coming from the State office while creating a centralized "hub" that is filtered through the district office.  

It is created with the intent of supporting schools with their immediate focus on SEL for all students while understanding that SEL for SWDs expands to the IEP.  The IEP is a pivotal tool that provide access to SEL for many students.  It provides guidance on the decision making process for ensuring SWDs emotions, goals (both academic and behavioral), and relationships are considered to ensure their equal-opportunity in a timely fashion.  The IEP is one of many ways we show care for our kids.
