First aid is the immediate assistance given at the time of an accident or illness. Individuals injured on school premises are entitled to adequate first aid care given as skillfully and promptly as possible.

In addition, general principals for temporary exclusion from school are also included for certain communicable diseases including chickenpox, hand, foot, and mouth disease, and strep throat.
