Hello, students! On this page, you will find various healthcare facilities that accept volunteers. Read carefully as each facility has different requirements. Make sure to check often as these will change.

Rehab Hospital of the Pacific

Requirements

  • Must be at least 14 years of age

  • Commitment of at least 60 hours of volunteer service expected

  • 2-step TB testing required

Kuakini Health System

Requirements

  • Must be 15 years of age or older when submitting an application

  • Parental Consent is required if under 18 years of age

  • Commitment to volunteer for a minimum of three months

2-step TB testing clearance with the last 12 months

Must attend an orientation upon acceptance into the program

The Queen's Health System

Requirements

  • Parental permission (for 15 to 17-year-olds)

  • Commitment of at least 64 hours

  • 2-step TB clearance

  • Orientation session attendance

  • Agreement to serve with C.A.R.E (Compassion, Aloha, Respect, and Excellence) to all of our patients

Hawai'i Pacific Health

Requirements

  • At least 16 years old

  • Commit to working a regular weekly schedule for 3 - 6 months

  • A positive attitude

  • Open mindedness and flexibility

  • Maturity and respect for others

  • Genuine desire to help others

Shriner's Hospital for Children

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old

  • Must be availabe to volunteer two hours per week during the weekdays for at least five months

  • Supply two references

  • Agree to a criminal background check (conducted for those 18 years and older)

  • Submit to a drug test

  • Provide proof of immunizations, prior disease or lab test results by your physician for mumps and rubella (MMR), measles and varicella (chicken pox)

  • An influenza vaccine is required during fly season
